SEAN REYES

Sean D. Reyes has served as Utah's 21st Attorney General since 2013, making history as the state's first minority statewide elected official. He graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University and earned his law degree with honors from UC Berkeley. Reyes has a distinguished legal career, having litigated for nearly 14 years and served as General Counsel for a tech company.

He has received numerous accolades, including the American Bar Association’s National Outstanding Young Lawyer award. Reyes has led significant initiatives in combating human trafficking, opioid abuse, and mental health issues, co-founding the Utah Opioid Taskforce and creating the Safe Utah App for mental health crises.

Reyes has also worked closely with both the Obama and Trump administrations on various issues, including veteran services and public health. He is recognized for his innovative approaches to law enforcement, including Rapid DNA technology and virtual reality training.

As a prominent speaker and leader in the legal community, Reyes chairs the Republican Attorney General Association and collaborates internationally to combat trafficking and cybercrime. He is an advocate for holding tech companies accountable and has a strong focus on public service. Reyes is the son of immigrant parents and a former collegiate athlete, residing in Utah with his wife and six children.
